Behind the Art
Isabella’s practice was formed in seasons of darkness, confusion, and eventual reinvention. Raised in an environment marked by instability and emotional unpredictability, she found in art a quiet counterpart. Painting became both refuge and mirror. A place where uncertainty did not need to be solved, only witnessed.
The canvas held what words could not. Curiosity, sadness, anger, longing. In a world where unpredictability often meant harm, art offered a different kind of space. One defined by permission rather than pressure. Creation became an act of release, then discipline, then refinement.
Over time, her work evolved into a meditation on transformation. Each piece explores the tension between immersion and emergence, softness and rupture. Surfaces carry both stillness and fracture as metaphors for becoming. Layers of acrylic, alcohol ink, plaster, and resin are built gradually, allowing depth to form through patience. What is seen at first glance is rarely all that is present. The work reveals itself slowly.
There is often a quiet recognition when someone stands before her paintings. A sense of encountering something familiar that has never been named aloud. The pieces do not instruct, they offer space and meet the viewer where they are.
At the center of Isabella’s practice is the belief that thresholds are sacred. The moment before clarity arrives. The space between who you were and who you are becoming.
That becoming can feel isolating before it feels expansive.
